Red Letter Media Star Trek: The Motion Picture review X Diesel Unlimited Maduro d.5 Robusto

Image
Profile Wrapper: Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro Binder: Mexican San Andrés Filler: Nicaraguan, Honduran  Pairing: Chocolate Milk (Fairlife) This is my second time smoking one of these, and I haven't been disappointed either time. It's a solid Maduro stick, notes of cocoa, leather, and earth. Lots of pepper on the opening, mellowed out through the middle, and returned a bit towards the nub. Great draw, touched up lightly 2-3 times but probably not totally necessary. A solid cigar at a great price, will consider a box purchase in the future.

La Perla Habana Murado X X-Files

Image
La Perla Habana Murado, this is the second cigar from a box of 20 of these, with an added special of 5 La Perla Habana Oros. I tried one after only a couple of days of resting, and it was an awful experience. Thankfully, now 9 days after it was delivered and they've been resting in all the different stash spots I've made, this one is smoking great and tasting 1000X better than I had expected. These were cheap af too, so that's a big plus. I could see these being a solid daily cigar, may have to get another box when this one gets close to empty.  Honey, leather, baked goods, wood, *edit: now in the final third, I'm getting notes of sweet cream. Focusing on smoking this cigar at a slower pace has definitely increased the flavor and enjoyment I'm getting out of it, and nearly eliminating entirely the ultra acidic hot draws.  The La Perla name (and it's price point) is what attracted me to this cigar, sharing it's moniker with a neighborhood in Old S...

Notes developed w/out light Phone calls w/ Sophie that seem like something good could happen. I'm smoking a Romeo Y Julieta 1875 Nica.  I didn't persandly age it, but its cellophane has hints of some time. Waves of nicotine vs kratom alkaloids, the temperature is 43°F. Winter won't give up or go quietly. Smoking in the car w/ the heat on. Makes me remember Long Island.

My Father Flor de las Antillas Maduro Toro BP X Shut the fuck up

Image
I just like taking pictures of my cigars. Here's a My Father Flor de las Antillas Maduro, box cut little jawn, Toro sized 6X52. Paired with an argument(?)/ discussion on a long distance call. Brings out notes of stress and frustration, subtle hints of anger. Would love to see how this pairs with crippling depression.

Sidebar #1

I get it now.  Shaky marriages, middle-aged men throwing everything they have at obviously bad ideas, MLM scams, Sex hotlines, Porn channels, Onlyfans, subscription after subscription after subscription...  I "got it" before, like from the outside, the way one can understand that someone else HAS cancer, but can't grasp what it is to HAVE cancer. But now I have their cancer, too. I am bored.  Bored is an understatement. I am understimulated intellectually, spiritually, physically, romantically, in every possible iteration, at every possible node, I am not existing I am just -  There is no identity here, all ego is fraudulent and seems imposed rather than created. The few bastions of respite become altars that the undead shuffle to in reverent worship.  We are neon love on the run, the celluloid the scene is printed on, the spotlight that illuminates.

The Crazies X Colonel E.H. Taylor Corojo

Image
Look at that thing go. So I cheated - that is, I have 3 small humidors and one large one all filled nearly to capacity with cigars BUT, with my limited experience and the short amount of time I've acquired all of them, it happens that many aren't fully rested, and I'm having a poor time determining which ones are ready to be smoked immediately. So I've tried to stick to the cigarillos I have so these cigars can rest and become delicious. Buuuuut I love them and want to try them all. So I cheated. However, I chose a cigar that I had no expectations of. The Colonel E.H. Taylor cigar is named after the bourbon it is crafted to pair, which I did not have on hand to do so. The Colonel is comprised of Dominican filler with a Nicaraguan binder (specifically the Jalapa region), all wrapped up in Corojo from Ecuador (instead of Honduras where Corojo usually is produced). All in all, a forgettable cigar, but not because it was bad in any way, just not outstanding in a...

With Teeth X looking back at garbage

Image
Hadn't even noticed all the tooth on this Immaculata by Ave Maria from the other night. Pretty sure that is my 3rd or 4th Immaculata, meaning I should have 1-2 left. Actually, I'm not totally sure this pic is from the Immaculata, it may be the Reconquista (also Ave Maria). One of the two I had attempted a Dickman cut on (45° straight cut), only to end up V cutting it halfway through due to draw issues.  Giving the show White Lotus a shot, suggested by Sophie. I've been binging my usual Cheers and MASH, with a lot of Xfiles thrown in when I'm not feeling comedy. But the itch to see or feel something "new" is not scratched. The last few movies I've attempted certainly couldn't. Shit let's talk about them in brief. Holland (2025) director-Mimi Cave Nicole Kidman, Peter Dealbert, Per Saari pretty garbage. Plain and simple. This movie feels like someone had a notebook full of cool shot ideas, and somehow got roped into using them on their fr...
